Character History
Carlisle Cullen was born in London, England in the 1640s to a Angelican Pastor during a time of religious upheaval. The church hunted witches, werewolves, and vampires, often mistaking innocent humans for them. But then Carlisle got bitten, and everything changed. He suffered in silence during the three day transformation. He hated what he had become. He tried to starve himself because he refused to survive off human blood. The thirst was making him so weak that he fed off of a deer. That's when the realization came to him that he didn't need to kill people to live, he could live off of animals.
Carlisle became a doctor, so he could help people, to try to make up for what he had become. That's when he found Edward. Edward was dying from the Spanish Influenza and Edward's mother made Carlisle promise to save her son at any cost. Carlisle then turned Edward into a vampire, following shortly with his wife Esme, then Rosalie, then Emmett. Soon, Alice and Jasper joined their coven and the clan of seven lived in peace.

As Carlisle watched Esme hunt for the first time, something hit him. Not literally, but, he realized something. He couldn't live without her. She completed him. Carlisle remembered stories from other vampires he had come across about finding a mate. They had said, "once you find her, you will see everything differently. You will realize that this person is now your future and you cannot go on without them." He now understood what they meant. Esme was destined to be his mate, he only hope she realized it now, too. Carlisle walked over to her and stood next to her, just as she threw a bear carcass away and smiled. Carlisle Cullen had found his soul mate after hundreds of years. He was finally happy.
